1. Don’t be too good for marketing

Don’t let your ego get in the way of marketing

2. Think like a reporter

The job of a reporter is to get views and ad revenues on their articles. What story will get attention? What headline will attract?

3. Release on a Monday or Tuesday

You will lose momentum, at the beginning of the week is best.

4. Make it short

As short as possible whilst still telling getting the point across.

5. Understand which emotions spread

The difference between liking and sharing is poking at the right emotions: Awe, anger, amusement — high arousal emotions.

  1. Do something controversial
  2. Make other people look good
    E.g. Microsoft age guesser, take advantage of people’s sense of vanity.
    Have a virtual assistant find relevant keyword articles, then the reporter, do some research on the reporter and find their emails. Emailing them: Reddit, social proof. Keep it short.
  3. Fake it until you make it, and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy
